Journal information

The American Journal of Digestive Disease (AJDD) (ISSN: 2329-6992) is a premier open-access venue
for translational and clinical research relevant to digestive diseases. With an emphasis on conceptual
breakthroughs, its goal is to facilitate rapid publication and circulation of novel discoveries in the field of
esophageal, gastric, intestinal, colonic, hepatic, pancreatic diseases and other aspects relevant to
digestive system.  It was founded by a group of scientists in the relevant fields and clinical academic
physicians from around the world, who are devoted to the advancement of gastroenterology and their
applications including, but not limited to diagnosis, therapy, prediction, prevention, personal medicine and
translational medicine related to diseases of digestive system.

The scope of AJDD encompasses all areas of digestive system including, but not limited to esophagus,
stomach, intestine and colon, rectum, liver, gallbladder and pancreas, etc. AJDD welcomes original and
review articles on both clinical investigation and basic research. Occasionally, special topic issues, short
communications, editorials, and invited perspectives will also be published. Manuscripts, including figures
and tables, must be original and not under consideration by another journal.

Unlike most other open access online journals, AJDD will keep most of the traditional features of paper
print that we are all familiar with, such as continuous volume, issue numbers, as well as continuous page
numbers to retain our comfortable familiarity towards an academic journal.

AJDD will be officially launched in late 2013, and initially published as a quarterly journal. Publication
frequencies can be increased to bi-monthly or even monthly if more manuscripts are received. We are
accepting manuscript submissions at this time. All manuscripts will be peer reviewed and published within
one month if accepted. If you are interested in submitting a manuscript to AJDD for consideration of
publication, please read the journal’s Guidelines for Author and e-mail the manuscript to the Editorial
Office at editorial@AJDD.us.

We are also inviting you to join the editorial board of AJDD. Please read the editorial board policy and
then contact us together with your updated CV, 5-10 keywords of your research interest, the weblink of
your professional webpage that is hosted in the official website of your affiliated university or institute if
you are interested in becoming an editorial board member.
